The project is dedicated to people working in the field of human rights defense; a place of protection for those who work in difficult conditions and dangerous contexts. The refuge is a dynamic place for gathering and raising awareness, a space for promoting public reflection on issues of social injustice. <\/p>

The activities of the refuge will take place at the Libera Repubblica di Alcatraz<\/strong>, where the Fondazione Fo Rame ETS<\/strong>, is also based, and in Rome at the headquarters of the Fondazione Barba Varley ETS.<\/strong><\/p>

The Fondazione Barba Varley ETS<\/strong> is directed by Eugenio Barba<\/strong> and Julia Varley<\/strong>, with the aim of supporting and raising awareness of the hidden culture of theater. Building on their long experience in the field of culture, the founders decided to focus their attention on the \u201cnameless,\u201d those who live in a situation of cultural emergency and social marginalization. <\/p>

The Fondazione Barba Varley ETS<\/strong> carries out activities in favor of groups disadvantaged by gender, geography, age, way of thinking, and acting in and outside the theater; it promotes university scholarships and training courses; it supports initiatives by theater groups and communities, encouraging encounters and exchanges between different cultures and skills; it promotes training and teaching to spread theater culture and the skills necessary for its use; it promotes theater research; it encourages individuals linked to theater and other fields of culture with alternative social and cultural objectives.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The Fondazione Dario Fo e Franca Rame ETS<\/strong> was established on 13.2.2019<\/strong> with the aim of preserving the memory of the initiatives and activities of Dario Fo e Franca Rame<\/strong>.<\/p>

The founding members are Mattea Fo<\/strong> (President), Jaele Fo<\/strong>, Jacopo Fo<\/strong>, Carlo Petrini<\/strong>, Marco Marchetti<\/strong> (Vice President) and Doriano Cranco<\/strong>. The activities of the Board of Directors are supported by honorary members, collaborators, and volunteers. <\/p>

The Foundation aims to safeguard and promote the human and artistic legacy of Fo e Rame<\/strong>, acting as a hub for collecting, promoting, and enhancing initiatives, ideas, and projects consistent with the thinking, lives, and values of these two great artists.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Foundation aims to preserve the memory and disseminate the political, cultural, and social thinking of Fo and Rame, pursuing goals exclusively represented by social, cultural, and environmental solidarity.<\/p>

The Foundation is based in the municipality of Gubbio, at the Libera Repubblica di Alcatraz<\/strong> where it promotes cultural events and meetings. In 2021, following the outbreak of war in Ukraine, it promoted the first reception experiment at Alcatraz, welcoming 26 people<\/strong> (women and children) fleeing the war. <\/p>

This experience gave rise to the idea of transforming the Libera Repubblica di Alcatraz<\/strong> into a project offering shelter and job reintegration for women who are victims of violence and their children.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The code A231<\/strong>, refers to one of the most beautiful birds that live and breed on the old continent: the Eurasian jay.<\/p>

These are protected birds that spend the winter in tropical Africa and return to our skies with the arrival of spring, when nesting begins. On 22 settembre 2024<\/strong> in Milan, at the Spazio Alda Merini<\/strong>, the traveling headquarters of the Fondazione Barba Varley<\/strong>, on the initiative of the Fondazione Dario Fo e Franca Rame ETS<\/strong> and the Fondazione Barba Varley ETS<\/strong> a letter of intent was signed against the phenomenon of missing persons and for the protection of victims of violence.<\/p>

The signatories shared a common and deep civic and cultural concern about the development of aggressive and violent criminal phenomena in significant areas of the planet, and emphasized the vast and profound humanitarian, political-institutional, economic, and social implications.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The Milan Charter commits signatories to \u201cmake their specialist knowledge available for the creation of alliances and forms of cooperation useful in combating violence against migrants, women and men persecuted by organized crime, and all victims of \u2018desaparici\u00f3n\u2019.\u201d<\/p>

The organizations that have signed the Milan Charter have declared their willingness to promote, in every possible way, forms of academic and scientific engagement, cultural production and education, research, and knowledge transfer that can contribute to the defense of human rights.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Roxana Pineda<\/strong> participation in the Open Pages<\/strong> project is part of the activities promoted by the Fondazione Fo Rame<\/strong> and the Fondazione Barba Varley <\/strong>to promote theatre as a tool for intercultural exchange, social reflection, and artistic experimentation. <\/p>

Her presence, as an artist, educator, and director of the Teatro La Rosa<\/strong>, represents a valuable opportunity for discussion and growth. During Roxana Pineda<\/strong> stay in Italy, she will participate in: <\/p>

\u2013 Theatre seminars and workshops with Italian students and actors;
\u2013 In-depth meetings on Cuban and Latin American theatre experiences;
